Because why not?
How many people have I been? Are we alive yet? Am I my body? Am I the space enclosed by my skin? Where do I want to go? Where have I been? What does it mean to be me? What does it mean to be you? Why am I me if you are you? Who is “we”? Why does everybody but me have a head? Why is it that at the ends of my fingers I find you? Is this the reality I want to live in? How do I reach the reality I want to live in? How much of me is made by others? How much of others is made by me? Why? How do you picture your mother when you think of her? Who were you? How to care? How to rest? How to love? How can I accept being wrong? Am I wrong? What does it mean to be wrong in this reality I constantly create? How tall is this mountain? How wide is this desert? How deep is this ocean? How much skin have I left around? Am I my uterus? Am I my grandparents? How much can I hate? What can I do with all this fire that keeps burning? What can I do with all these ashes that are so fertile? Am I afraid of death? Am I everything that has ever existed? What is “me”? What is “you”? Is it “who” or is it “what”? Is it “when” or is it “when”? How can I be good if there is so much pain where I don’t see? What can we do for Palestine? Sometimes I think of myself from above, and then I think of my room, and then of this building, this city, this country, this planet, this solar system, this galaxy, this universe, the everything. I try to engulf it, as one becomes ten, one hundred, one thousand, one million, one billion. One billion is made of a thousand millions. It’s too big. But then the cells that make my skin, the mitochondria, the dna, the molecules, the atoms, the neutron, the quarks, the nothing. I try to spit it out, zero comma one, zero comma zero one, zero comma zero zero one, zero comma zero to the third, to the sixth, to the ninth one. This is a question. What can we do for this world? How do we save ourselves?
